How To Make Money Blogging In 2010
The Big Blog Question.
How to make money blogging is a huge question being typed in the search engines. But the amount of information out there can be overwhelming and much of it is outdated. So what is the best way to make money blogging in 2010?
So, you have a blog page set up and are ready to start pulling in the cash from it. But how do you do that? How is it that there are so many folks out there raking in the moohla and your still scratching your head and wondering what the heck am I doing wrong. Next you search on Google and type in the question, "How do I make money blogging?"
Whoa trigger...
With over 175,000,000 pages to go through you will get swamped with a bunch of stuff that will still leave you asking the same question.
Lets get a bit of focus here and dig down into what it is that is keeping you stuck.
We will start with what your real goal is and how to get the word out about your page as well as build some coolness to it sprinkled in with affiliate links and ads.
The Goal You Set For Your Blog Site
Setting a goal is so important when you looking at actually making money from you blog. I have done several random clicks on blog pages that are either unorganized or filled up with a bunch of banners and links that are of no relevance to the blog itself.
Lets clean this up first if that is your case.
Step 1.
Take a good hard look at your blog. If you have already started putting up affiliate links and banners make sure they are relevant to what you are blogging about.
For instance, if you are blog is about "the wild animal kingdom", your affiliate links, banners and ads need to reflect animals. You would want links to possibly books or videos about the subject.
So, your goal would be to reach other like minded people that are interested in the topic you are blogging about and create some excitement about the product you are promoting on your blog so that the visitor to your site will click on your affiliate link and hopefully purchase the product.
Why You Should Have Your Own Domain For Your Blog Site.
Here is another BIGGIE I see out there.
Many bloggers' are still using free blog sites. This is where many bloggers get it wrong. If you do not have your own domain with your blog site, you are risking more than the 10 bucks it would cost you to pull the trigger and buy one. Yes you do have to host it as well, but that only another 8 bucks a month. Hostgator is my personal hosting company of choice.
There are many others out there as well but Hostgator is the most reliable and the easiest to use it also has a direct link to set up wordpress blogs. Saweeet!
The Reason Why You Want Your Own Domain And Hosting
Once you own it, you own it...It can not be taken away, it can not be controlled by someone else and you have a much bigger chance of getting to the top of search pages.
You also have ways to attach offer pages, thank you pages and auto-responders when you own your site.
So how do you do all this stuff?
Here is a link to one of my landing pages with a fun little video I created about it.
Please note: This is a total sales page... Just keepin it honest here. :) But, I think you will enjoy it and... It does have a really cool offer from me on it. No sales hype, but this is how I make my pages that are attached to my blog sites. You'll get the idea pretty fast on what I do with my blogs and how I tie everything together in a funnel.
Have fun with this one!!!
Till next time..

I like the wording style you used in this very helpful article. It was as though you were sitting right next to me, giving me real advice from experience. I learned some new things, especially about the importance of having one's own domain name and host. Thanks for your honesty.

Hey Rhonda!
Great stuff, and one thing I'd like to add is that if you create a blog on say Tumblr or WordPress.com (free sites), your blog can be yanked without recourse if you promote anything as an affiliate. They're very strict about non-commercial content, so another HUGE reason to have a blog on your own domain.
Way to go!
